We are the fourth generation of Argentine tea producers and makers.
The Tea Route is a project created to enjoy tea while in contact with nature in a dreamy place, where the experience lived is our best remarkable trait.
We understand tea as a cultural event and, therefore, the entire production process is part of our heritage. Our passion for tea is what drives us and keeps us active, while every day we are committed to sharing our best tea through activities, experiences and events.
FROM RUSSIA
In 1931, Basilio Okulovich’s family disembarked in Buenos Aires. Shortly after, Basilio Okulovich junior, who had traveled in his mother’s womb from Russia, was born to start writing this story.
THEY START GROWING TEA
The family settled in inland Campo Viera town, located at 20 km from Oberá, where they started growing the Camellia Sinensis plant for the first time and continued doing so uninterruptedly up to this date.
THE 50S
Tea production in drying rooms started in the 50s and it was Basilio Okulovich junior who continued the work, settling with his family in the vicinity of where his father’s first drying room was operated.
DON BASILIO S.R.L.
With favorable winds, a blessed land and a great devotion to work, Basilio brought his son Carlos on board, and after a few years they decided to consolidate the family business together under the name Don Basilio S.R.L.
GREAT TEA PRODUCER
Carlos Okulovich was the one managing the company, and together with a great work team, he positioned Don Basilio among the major tea producers in the Americas and one of the largest tea exporters in Argentina.
HAND-PROCESSED TEA
Her passion for tea and her roots led Carolina Okulovich, Carlos’ daughter, to up the ante and produce loose tea again of the best quality which was harvested and processed by hand, along with the creation of the Tea Route.
TOURISM
The Tea Route is intended to open the doors of history, establishing a connection with tea and telling to anyone interested in learning how we work what is the tea route going from the tea leaf to the tea made in our cups every day.
